MONROE - The Monroe Junior Optimist Club is having a car wash from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the parking lot at the rear of Amcore Bank, off Ninth Street, in Monroe. All makes, sizes and uses from a 50 cc Honda to a 23-foot recreational vehicle will leave "squeaky clean." They will also have lemonade, hot dogs and a bake sale. Proceeds will go towards the student trip to the Optimist International Youth Convention in Orlando, Fla.
