MONROE - Monroe FFA Chapter hosted its 72nd banquet to recognize its outstanding members and alumni on April 30. The banquet consisted of many awards, guest speaker and section five Wisconsin State Sentinel Kaitlyn Owens, a live and silent auction and a celebration of the past year.

The live and silent auction generated over $1,000 in revenue to be put towards the 2015-16 officer retreat and the upcoming school year. Each past officer brought an item to be auctioned off live, and many local businesses donated items for the silent auction.

The chapter awarded many of its members with numerous degrees such as the Discovery, Greenhand and Chapter degrees. Some of the members were also awarded with many Star Chapter Awards, which can be one of the highest honors to be awarded from an FFA advisor and chapter.

The chapter gave the Friend of the FFA award to the Barbara Timm family for the family's donation to the chapter. The Blue and Gold award, presented to someone who has supported the Monroe FFA in numerous ways, was also given to the Todd and Deb Gorr family in memory of Troy Gorr.
