MONROE - The Monroe Public Library Youth Services Department invites families to join in the fun during Mother Goose Mix-Up, the next Family Evening at the Library event, 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, in the library's meeting room.

There is no charge and no registration is required. The program is recommended for children ages three to eight and their families.

Youth Services Librarian, Kris Ault, will present some old favorite Mother Goose rhymes with shadow puppets and share lesser known rhymes as well.

The audience will want to practice their rhymes before the program to be prepared for that famous game show, Name That Rhyme! Working together, children and adults will be challenged to complete a rhyme after being given the first few lines of the poem or they may be given a clue to a nursery rhyme and asked to name the rhyme.

Following Name That Rhyme, families are invited to enjoy Mother Goose games, crafts and snacks.

Programs in the Family Evening at the Library series are intended to be a break in the busy schedule most families have today.

It is a time for parents, grandparents, and other caring adults and their youngsters to relax together, enjoy a program, and choose a few books to share at home.

Programs in the series have included hands-on workshops, puppet shows, and family entertainers. For more information regarding programs for children and families, call the Monroe Public Library at (608) 328-7010.
