Monroe downtown parking survey available
cars on the square
A 1968 350 Super Sport Chevy 2 Nova is parked in front of the Green County Courthouse on April 25, 2025. It will be a featured car at this year’s Cars on the Square Event which will be held on Friday, June 6 in downtown Monroe. The event showcases more than 300 classic cars from across the region.

The City of Monroe has partnered UW-Platteville Engineering students to complete a parking study for the downtown area. They have created a survey to seek input and correlate with the data they collect for the study, which is anonymous.

It’s broken down into several different categories: visitors, residents, business owner, employee, Main Street committee member, etc.

●  For Business Owners: https://arcg.is/1ObiX

●  For Business Employees: https://arcg.is/4e4KP0

●  For Visitors/Customers: https://arcg.is/1DDSuK3

There are a couple questions about how parking should be paid for, which are especially relevant.

And, as identified by the city, these are the goals of the survey and study:

●  Understand Real Parking Needs: We want to hear directly from those who work, live, shop, or visit downtown Monroe to better understand current parking demands and what challenges exist

●  Support Local Business: businesses rely on accessible parking for customers and employees — the survey and corresponding parking study will help ensure parking supports economic activity downtown

●  Plan for the Future: as downtown grows and changes, we are seeking data to plan for future parking demands and infrastructure improvements

●  Data Driven Decision Making: your anonymous survey responses will contribute to a comprehensive parking study for downtown Monroe

The students will present initial findings Tuesday, Oct. 14 to the city. The survey will be able to be completed after Tuesday, but to ensure the data is collected before presentation, submit a completed copy as soon as possible.
