MONROE — Monroe Clinic volunteers have announced the 2019 recipients of the $500 scholarship award for students seeking a career in a health-related field. Monroe recipients include Lauren Hlubek and Linnea Tabaka, and Monroe Clinic branch recipients are Haiden Zimmerman and Kirsten Oliver.

The Advanced Studies Scholarship was awarded to five area college students who completed at least one year of advanced study beyond high school in a health-related field. A $1,500 scholarship was awarded to Shong Chang, Claire Michaela Hughes, Emily Mauerman, Emma Peterson and Musica Perez.

Applicants are required to have a GPA of 3.25 or higher and are evaluated on citizenship, need and pursuit of a degree or certificate in the healthcare field. Recipients of the scholarships must either live within an area serviced by a Monroe Clinic branch or have a parent who is employed by the organization. Each application is reviewed by a scholarship committee.
