MONROE — Monroe Clinic is expanding its orthopedic services to offer the latest advancement in joint replacement surgery, the MAKO Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology System.
The MAKO Technology utilizes a preoperative CT Scan to allow for patient-specific pre-operative planning that enables more accurate implant positioning. CT data is used to create a 3D model of the patient’s anatomy. An individualized pre-operative plan is created and reviewed by the surgeon prior to the Mako procedure.
Throughout each procedure, the surgical team will be able to continually validate the individual plan for each patient in real time. This ensures accuracy of the implant and optimization of implant placement.
Doctors Lance Sathoff and Jonathan Swindle are both MAKO-certified and trained. They began operating with MAKO-assisted procedures in November 2019. Anyone interested in scheduling an orthopedic consultation for MAKO-assisted procedures or learning more about treatment options for muscular, joint or bone issues, should contact the Monroe Clinic Orthopedic team at 608-324-1127.
