MONROE — Monroe Clinic has announced the addition of a new chief nursing officer to the team of healthcare providers.
Jason Steinke was chosen to take over the position after the retirement of previous CNO Paula Elmer.
Elmer served Monroe Clinic for 41 years. Steinke was selected to next guide the planning, organizing and directing of operations in clinical areas, as well as the direction of nursing practices.
Steinke received his bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2000. He later received his master’s degree in business administration from DeVry University Keller Graduate School of Management in 2010. Since 2015, Steinke has served as director of Critical Care and Rehab Services at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Janesville. Under his leadership, Steinke helped Janesville achieve an improvement in patient satisfaction scores from the 60th to 87th percentile.
Steinke’s accomplishments at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital are just some of the contributions offered in his over 17 years in health care systems experience.
Outside the organization, Steinke is involved in the Rock County EMS Advisory Council, a member of the Rock County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force and a Chairman for Trail Life USA Troop 1885.
