MONROE - The Monroe class of 1959 held their 55th class reunion at the Idle House Mansion with 41 classmates and four teachers plus spouses in attendance.

Ann Godmiller Kroll was master of ceremonies. Nancy Spoerry, one of the teachers, gave an informative talk.

Phil Crawford gave a memorial dedication and invocation in memory of the 39 deceased classmates. A star balloon for each deceased classmate was then released. Since the reunion, the class has lost two more classmates. The 41 deceased classmates include Anita Ainsworth, Richard Ammon, Clarence Asmus, Dan Bauer, Kent Baumgartner, Byron Broge, Sharon Broge, Jean Clark, Pat Connors, Karen Davis, Barbara Dickson, John Drews, James Ericksen, Jeannette Fieldler, James Flanagan, Robert French, Dorothy Fritsch, Gloria Holton, Mike Hughes, Loisann Johnson, Edward Kennison, Julian Kieckle, Joey Klassy, James Kline, Bruce Kneubuehl, Bonnie Kubly, Gerald Kubly, Kenneth Mahlkuck, Kent Marsh, Don McKenna, Darwin Menehan, Butch Meyers, Joann Nussbaum, Elaine Rubi, Dick Schmiedlin, Carol Schoepfer, Daryl Severson, Paul Vincent, Fred Wald, Judy Whitehead and Nathan Zimmerman.

Teachers at the reunion were Nancy Spoerry, Nancy Nelson and Clayton and Janet Jackson. Charles Mowbray and Dorothy Ferron sent letters to be read.

There was an informal get-together Friday night and a Sunday brunch at Turner Hall.
