ORANGEVILLE - The Mighty Richland Players will be performing "Sarah Bernhardt in Texas" April 29 through May 15 in Orangeville, Galena and Stockton.
The play is written by Mike Craver, an off-Broadway playwright, compose and actor who has made multiple appearances in northwestern Illinois previously. Craver will also be performing in the play as well.
Although this show is a sequel to "Belle of the Wabash" and a prequel to "Bosh and Moonshine," the performance is a stand-alone musical comedy, and can be seen without seeing the other two.
The characters find themselves in Dead End, Texas trying to find work in a "house of pleasure."
Despite the setting, the performance is a appropriate for families.
Returning voices include Emily Evans as Dora, Terrie Miller as Fannie Mae Garrettson and Mary Jo Frederick as Sarah Bernhardt, as well as the same pit orchestra Carl and Joan Sanford, Sheri Novak and John Buford.
