Midday Masterworks planned for Wednesday

MONROE - "Those Fabulous French" is the title of a free half-hour organ mini-recital to be played at two locations on Wednesday, July 23. Organist Deborah Krauss Smith, who presents the recital series called "Midday Masterworks", will play from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Monroe, 2227 4th Street, and will repeat the program from 5:30 to 6 p.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14th Street. The program will include well-known works for organ by notable French composers, represented by Theodore Dubois, Jehan Alain, Cesar Franck, Jean Langlais, Camille Saint-Saens, and Charles-Marie Widor, including Widor's famous "Toccata" from Symphony No.
