WAUNAKEE — Maddison Markham, a student at Monroe High School, performed a music theater-soprano/alto voice solo as part of the Wisconsin School Music Association Exemplary Performance Recital on Oct. 25 at the annual Wisconsin State Music Conference in Madison.
In spring, WSMA adjudicators identified truly exemplary performances from the nine WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festivals.
Of the 11,000-plus vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles scheduled at the 2018 WSMA state festivals, 460 were selected as “exemplary” in the Exemplary Performance Recognition Project.
After a careful screening process, 11 of those solos and ensembles were chosen to be part of the combined recital for an audience of music teachers, parents, other family members, friends and peers.
