MONROE - Members of Monroe High School class of 1940 recently held their 70th reunion at Turner Hall.
Hedwig (Brunner) Deininger gave each one attending a list of the names of 70 classmates that are known to be deceased. There were 109 in the class.
Many classmates were unable to attend because of distance and health issues, including one regular attendee, Dr. Alfred Leiser of Houston, Texas.
Attending were: F. J. Roub, McFarland; Bill Hunter, Roscoe, Ill., a classmate and magician who entertained the group; Gladys (Foss) Helland, Brodhead, and her husband; Hedy (Brunner) Deininger; Evelyn (Hartwig) Krattinger; Lorraine (Wells) Schlappi McGinnis and her husband, all of Monroe.
