MONROE - The Green County UW-Extension office announced that the Monroe United Methodist Church was presented with the 2012 Friend of Extension award at a recent church service celebration.
The UW-Extension office annually presents an award to a local individual or organization in recognition of their outstanding commitment to UW-Extension's educational outreach and research programs.
"The Monroe United Methodist Church has offered great support to many Green County UW-Extension Programs," said Mark Mayer, Green County UW-Extension department head.
The church provided assistance for the recent drought information meeting, mental health forums, Stirring the Pot, multi-cultural events and numerous 4-H events.
Through their extensive dedication to a variety of youth, agricultural, family and community programs, the church has made a difference and has had a very positive impact on the lives of many Green County residents.
