Meske attends FFA alumni conference

WASHINGTON DC - Richard Meske from the Black Hawk FFA Alumni Affiliate in South Wayne attended the National FFA Alumni Association State Leaders Conference July 15-19, sponsored by Agri-Bank, Toyota and Tractor Supply Company.

Ninety-four FFA alumni members representing 32 state associations were in attendance for this week-long conference themed "Celebrate the Present, Invest in the Future," where participants were able to attend workshops, network, share successful ideas and tips, conduct strategic business for the organization, make congressional visits advocating for agricultural education and take in the sites and history of Washington, D.C. Additionally, participants donate more than $6,500 in scholarships for FFA students to attend FFA Washington Leadership Conference.

Highlights of the conference include a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, night your of D.C., motivation keynote from past national officer, Andrew McCrea and much more.

Through this fun and exciting conference participants have gained valuable information which they will share with their respective state associations and local affiliates upon their return home. Members are encouraged to continue to work with their congressional officials and local school boards to ensure that the story about positive of agricultural education is heard nationwide.

The National FFA Alumni Association assists agricultural education programs across the United States by providing volunteers, program experts, advocacy and financial resources allowing every student the opportunity to be successful in the endeavors of their choosing.
