MONROE - The University of Wisconsin-Extension, Monroe Clinic and the CHIP Mental Health Workgroup are hosting a Mental Health First Aid training from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. June 26 at the Green County Justice Center.

The training will help those who attend recognize common mental health and alcohol and drug problems in adults where they live and work. It gives them the tools and skills to react and communicate with people who may be experiencing a mental health problem. Those who attend will feel more comfortable when responding to, and making decisions in a crisis situation and will know what help, support and services are available.

Mental Health First Aid is a community-wide training to help people know how to help. Journey Mental Health provides the training, and the cost is $25 per person, which includes a manual, lunch and snacks.

Registration and payment are due by June 19 to the Green County UW-Extension Office, 2841 6th St., Monroe. Checks should be made payable to: GUPPY.
