Steven and Cathy Maurer, Monroe, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 23, 2012.
The Maurers were married at the United Methodist Church, Monroe, on Sept. 23, 1972.
Cathy and Steve Maurer reside on a farm just outside of Monroe, where Cathy has Arabian horses and Steven enjoys hunting. Steve works for RR Donnelly and Cathy works for the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
The couple are the parents of two children. Michael and his wife, Rory, live in Monroe and are the parents Alyse, 9, and Gavin, 3. Lisa and her husband, Dan Buol, also live in the Monroe area and are the parents of Monika, 16.
