Madrigal dinner set for Dec. 12

MONROE - There will be a Madrigal Dinner, Saturday, Dec. 12, at the M-room, Monroe High School. There is a choice of attending a noon meal or a 6 p.m. meal.

Participants can choose between Queen's Honey Citrus Chicken and the King's Pot Roast. The meal starts with wassail, coffee, and a cheese and sausage display, then a salad of fresh hearts of Romaine topped with sugared pecans and dried cranberries with balsamic dressing. The entree choice is served with glazed baby carrots, rosemary garlic roasted red potatoes, and European grain rolls with honey butter.

The feast ends with warm bread pudding with caramel sauce followed by a program of Madrigal music and soloists.

Tickets are $20.

The M-room will be decorated with extensive decorations. The group has rented plates, silverware, goblets, tablecloths, and napkins and the dinner is planned and executed by Eric Ekum.
