FREEPORT — The MADDMEN, a northern Illinois rock and roll band, is performing a stage show in the ballroom of the Masonic Event Center on Saturday, Nov. 11. In addition to being a fun-filled night of great music and entertainment, the event also serves as a fundraiser for downtown Freeport beautification efforts for the season. The event is hosted by the Greater Freeport Partnership along with generous support from local sponsors.
The MADDMEN are following in the footsteps of the NOMADDS, a popular Freeport-based rock and roll band who played in northwest Illinois in the 1960s. Since their inception, every one of the NOMADDS have played in the MADDMEN at different times.
“So many of our great music events happen outside, but we want to keep that great energy going! We invite everyone to the Masonic Event Center for a fabulous local band on November 11 and hope to have the same positive response,” said Katie Gentz, events and engagement manager for the partnership.
Tickets can be purchased on the Greater Freeport Partnership Facebook event page or search on Eventbrite.com, or in-person at Riteway Furniture and Appliance (20 E. Stephenson St., Freeport), the Greater Freeport Partnership office (110 W Main St., Freeport), or Stockton Ace Hardware (116 N. Main St., Stockton). Larger groups that want to sit together should consider purchasing a VIP table for eight.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m. Food will be provided by Benchwarmers and drinks will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the event will benefit beautification efforts in downtown Freeport including seasonal plantings, mulch, planters, pedestrian furniture, and more.
The Greater Freeport Partnership is a collaboration of business, community, visitor and economic development services with the mission to drive economic growth for Freeport and Stephenson County.
