MONROE — The Monroe Arts Center Foundation, Inc. recently announced the creation of a new fund designed to support new children’s programs at MAC. It will be called the Callahan Youth Fund named for Kevin Callahan who passed away last year.  

A generous donor has generated a challenge grant whereby the donor will contribute $1.00 for every $2.00 raised for the Callahan Youth Fund. If the maximum is raised, the fund would have a total of one million dollars which would provide about $40,000 annually as a permanent endowment. 

The MAC Foundation believes that the arts are critical in a child’s development, and this fund will go a long way in achieving this goal. Any questions can be directed to Charles Wellington, the president of the Foundation at (608) 325-2191.
