MILWAUKEE — Sunday morning, Oct. 3, 475 people in Wisconsin raised $51,000 in the American Lung Association in Milwaukee’s LUNG FORCE Walk held at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Participants walked through the beautiful Zoo for one mile and were six feet away from each other to ensure social distancing. Hundreds of individuals, families, groups of friends and corporate teams came together for the 2021 Milwaukee LUNG FORCE Walk.
“We thank everyone in our community for helping us turn small steps into great strides toward a future free of lung cancer and all lung diseases,” said Megan Cordova, executive director of the Lung Association in Wisconsin. “We are proud that funds raised will support our ongoing efforts for lung health and will provide the resources for those who need it here in Wisconsin.”
Funds raised at the LUNG FORCE Walk will support the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support the Lung Association’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The COVID-19 Action Initiative is a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics.
