MONROE - The "How Sweet It Is" Luncheon, sponsored by Stateline Women's Connection and Stonecroft Ministries, is set for 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17 in Peppercorn Banquets at Ludlow Mansion 1417 Mansion Drive.
The cost is $9 and includes lunch, tax, tip and program. The event will feature Kristi Smith, owner of Rainbow Confections, who will share the vision behind Monroe's newest old-time candy store. She will provide samples of some of the 35 flavors of popcorn they make in their store on the Square.
The speaker, Susan Keegan of DeWitt, Iowa, will discuss the topic "Walk in the Woods." Keegan, a stay-at-home mother, will share how she loves to "escape" her busy household to enjoy the solitude in the beauty of nature.
