WEST ALLIS - The 2010 State 4-H Horse Expo was held at State Fair Park in West Allis Sept. 16 through Sept. 19. Qualified youth and their horses from throughout Wisconsin competed in equestrian competitions, such as showmanship, equitation, and trail.
To qualify a 4-H member must have won a blue ribbon at his or her county fair show in showmanship, pleasure riding or driving; equitation, horsemanship; or trail.
In addition to riding competitions, 4-Hers competed in arts and education events, such as photography and horse judging.
Those 4-H youth from Green County who showed at State Expo included: Alyssa Bailey, Decatur 4-H, Meg Butenhoff, Young Americans 4-H, Amy Alwill, Sam Barr, Rebecca Barr, Chelsi Langmeier, Jenna Langmeier of the Dougherty Creek 4-H Club in Argyle; Lauren O'Conner, Dayton Dairylanders 4-H; and Courtney Wilcox of the Firefly 4-H Club.
