Local filmmaker to film at Albrecht Elementary

BRODHEAD - A local filmmaker will be filming at the Albrecht Elementary School starting at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 28.

Beth Zurkowski, screenwriter/director/producer, created a science fiction/fantasy world from a novel she wrote but hasn't been published yet. Zurkowski has taken classes at Milwaukee Area Technical College and film classes in Columbia College in Chicago.

The film is about 10-year-old Nova and her friends, Takeesha, Benny and Max Kim, who try to figure out how to stop the evil boggarts from blowing up the school science lab.

Filming will take place most of Sunday.

The lead character Nova is played by Hailee Sundquist. Takeeasha is played by Mary Schmitt. Benny will be played by James Zurkowski and Max Kim will be played by Johnathon Su.
