MADISON — Local families were recently honored at the 2018 Wisconsin State Fair Aug. 7 for their Century Farm. 

The Century Farm Awards Program began in 1948 as part of Wisconsin’s Centennial Celebration. The program honors families who have had continuous ownership of their Wisconsin farm or home for 100 years or more. 

During the Wisconsin State Fair, 123 Century Farm families were recognized. 

Local families recognized included: Larry Buetzer, Browntown; Julie and Ryan Syse, Blanchardville; Glenda and Gene Komprood, Gratiot; and Linda L. Olson, Brodhead.
