MADISON - World-renowned dancers Sascha Radetsky and Stella Abrera of American Ballet Theater will perform at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Sat., Dec. 4; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5. They will star in the 2010 production of Dance Wisconsin's Nutcracker Fantasy at the Wisconsin Union Theater.
Nutcracker Fantasy, an enchanting, family-friendly alternative to traditional Nutcracker productions, has become a holiday tradition. Under the artistic direction of Jo Jean Retrum, Nutcracker Fantasy takes the best of Tchaikovsky's beloved ballet and infuses it with magical plot twists, original music, a live chorus, and even ballroom dancing.
Dancing from the area are Christina Wyttenbach, daughter of Colette and Curt, Haliey McIntosh, daughter of Jolyn and Jim, and Jordan Zweifel, daughter of Brenda and Brian.
All three girls are company members of Dance Wisconsin and dance major roles in the ballet. Also in the cast are Curt and Colette Wyttenbach.
