Sons of Norway plan Syttende Mai event
MONROE - Monroe Sons of Norway Ostestaden, or Cheese City, lodge will meet at 6:30 p.m. May 10 in the community room of the Presbyterian Church in Monroe to celebrate Syttende Mai - Norwegian Independence Day.
The evening will begin with a potluck meal followed by Norwegian bingo. Bring a dish to pass and own table service. This event is open to the public.
Piano students to hold spring recital
MONROE - The piano students of Gwen Shaker will present their "2018 Spring Piano Recital - Music around the World" at 7 p.m. May 7 at St. Victor School.
A reception will follow. This recital is open to the public.

Lunch Bunch topic talks yoga benefits
DARLINGTON - "A Strong Body Makes a Peaceful Mind" will be the topic of the next Lunch Bunch meeting from noon to 1 p.m. May 14 in the county board room of the Lafayette County Courthouse. Attendees may bring a lunch during this informal hour.
Jeff Wright, certified yoga instructor, author and educator, will be the presenter for this session.
He will talk about the health benefits of yoga, how to reduce stress through yoga and meditation and yoga positions and techniques to fit one's lifestyle and physical ability. Questions from the public are welcome.
This informal, free session is sponsored in part by Lafayette County Home and Community Education, UW-Extension and free-will donations.
