Literacy Council gets Fund grant

MONROE - The Literacy Council of Green County Ltd. announces it has received a grant from the Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Charitable Fund of the Monroe Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin Inc. to support the Step Forward Adult Series.

Step Forward is a standards-based, four skills series emphasizing the language skills needed to be successful at home, in the community, and at work. The series improves student outcomes by integrating language instruction into real-life contexts, and ensures student mastery of the language related to local and national government, the workplace, the community and academics. This grant is made available from the Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Charitable Fund of the Monroe Fund. The Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Charitable Fund of the Monroe Fund responds to the area's not-for-profit organizations wanting to start new, innovative programs, or expand current services and provides the greatest flexibility for addressing changing needs to advance the most promising, creative approaches to strengthening communities. The Community Foundation serves Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Lafayette, Rock and Walworth counties.
