MONROE - Area families are invited to the Monroe Public Library for a special Family Fun Night program when the Sons of Norway presents Trolls, Tales, and Treats - A Taste of Norway at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12. The program is free, and no registration is required. All ages are welcome.

Members of Monroe's Ostestaden Lodge of the Sons of Norway will introduce the audience to their Norwegian heritage, complete with music, trolls, stories and a sampling of Norwegian food.

Family Fun Nights are an ongoing series in the "One World, One Story" summer library program conducted by the Monroe Public Library. Other opportunities include reading incentive programs and "Wild Wednesday" workshops for grade-school age students.

Children entering first through fifth grades can sign up for the library's "One World, Your Story" writing workshop, which will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13. With the help of a writing coach, aspiring authors will have the opportunity to write and illustrate a vacation story book. The stories will be collected and put into the library's picture book collection for all to enjoy.

There is also still time to join the summer reading programs at the Monroe Public Library. For more information, visit www.monroepubliclibrary.org, or stop in to the library.

Library programs are open to children of all abilities. If accommodations are needed, please contact the Youth Services Department at (608) 328-7026.
