MONROE - Monroe Public Library is offering a workshop from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, on how to use eBay for buying and selling in the second floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library.

John Harris, a Microsoft certified systems engineer (MCSE), a Microsoft certified trainer (MCT), and a computer coach on Comcast television network airing in the Chicago area, will teach this workshop. As computer coach on Comcast network, Harris teaches viewers about computer hardware and software, online searching, and safety on the Internet.

In the eBay workshop at Monroe Public Library, Harris will focus on how to efficiently search eBay to find products that you may want to buy, how to use eBay to sell your new or used products, and tips that you can use for making effective transactions. A wide variety of large and small products currently advertised on eBay will be viewed, including automobiles, home furnishings, crafts and more. It is not necessary to use a computer in the workshop to benefit from the workshop presentation. Participants who want to practice using eBay for approximately the last 20 minutes of the workshop following the main presentation are encouraged to bring personal laptops for use with the Monroe Public Library wireless connection. As instructor time permits, those who stay after the group presentation to practice using eBay will have the opportunity to receive one to one assistance from the workshop instructor.

The workshop on using eBay will be offered Saturday, Dec. 12, in the Monroe Public Library second floor meeting room. The group presentation will last approximately 40 minutes, followed by 20 minutes for questions and answers and one-to-one assistance for those who are using computers to access eBay as instructor time permits.

Space is limited to approximately 30 participants. To reserve a space, register by calling or coming by Monroe Public Library information/reference desk at 328-7012 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
