MONTICELLO - Learn something about the invention of paper at the 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22 meeting of the Monticello Historical Society. The meeting will be held in the North Room of the Monticello Zwingli Church.
Elda and Linda Schiesser will present a program about paper and how it has been their gift to adventure. Understanding the importance of paper in previous centuries will help us appreciate the beauty of paper. There will be several examples of paper cuttings from around the world. The Schiessers will explain how they began their Swiss-German paper cutting called scherenschnitte. Elda has had her work in many museum exhibits both in the United States and Switzerland. She will relate some interesting stories about how she has became part of these adventures and what gift paper has brought to both Linda and her.
