Mediacom annually gives $1,000 World Class scholarships to 50 graduating seniors to provide support for the students' post-secondary education. More than 1,200 students applied for the scholarships and applications were reviewed by a panel of educators who evaluated academic performance, references from teachers, community involvement, and brief personal essays.
To receive the Mediacom scholarships, recipients must attend an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or technical school within the United States. Applications for Mediacom's 2009 scholarships will be sent to high schools in the fall.
