DARLINGTON — The Lafayette County Historical and Genealogy Society will meet at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 to discuss current and future activities, including caboose and Octagon Building restoration work.
The meeting will take place in the meeting room at the Museum, 525 Main Street, Darlington. The public is welcome to attend.
Two days later, the Darlington Depot Museum and Welcome Center will open for the 2024 summer season at 1 p.m.
There are new model railroad displays and visitors can see the caboose restoration in progress. There will be popcorn and Lucky Cow Gelato available for purchase.
The summer season continues with the Museum open from 1-4 p.m., Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Labor Day weekend.
