LAFAYETTE COUNTY — The Lafayette Ag Stewardship Alliance will sponsor a drive-by field day from 12 to 3 p.m. Sept. 30. This is an opportunity to view a variety of practices on four different farms in one day. Attendees can choose topics and which farmers to talk with.
● Berget Family Farms: Mike Berget, 8692 County M, Darlington. Crop grown is wheat, practices displayed is low disturbance manure injection and summer seeded cover crops.
● Redrock View Farms: Steve Carpenter, 10548 Palmer Rd., Darlington. Crop grown is wheat, practices displayed is low disturbance manure injection and summer seeded alfalfa.
● Darlington Ridge Farms: Jim DiGangi, Twin Bridge Rd. and Hilldale Rd., Cuba City. Crop grown is rye, practices displayed is surface applied solid manure and summer seeded Sorghum-Sudan grass.
● Kamps farms: Dan Kamps, Wisconsin 81 and Rowesville Rd., Darlington. Crop grown is corn for grain, practices displayed is winter beef applied manure and early spring seeded cover crops and corn for grain.
