ALBANY - The Green County Land and Water Conservation Department will be hosting the 2017 Southwest Wisconsin Land Judging contest at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 18 at the Albany Village Park, located on the corner of North Jackson and Washington streets in Albany. Participants will leave for the land judging site at 9:30 a.m. The contest should be completed by noon.
The rules for the contest are:
Only one team from each school or organization is eligible for a team plaque.
All individuals are eligible for individual plaques whether they are on a team or not.
The Soil Study and Land Evaluation Handbook of Wisconsin will be the standard used in the judging contest.
All teams will be composed of three or four members. Only the top three members will count for team scoring.
Individuals may compete even if they are not on a team.
A total of four pits will be judged.
There will be plaques for the first five teams placing and the first five individuals placing.
