DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Land Conservation Department announces the Cost Sharing sign-up for 2009.
The sign-up will be Jan. 12 through Feb. 20. Approval for cost sharing will be based on conservation need and availability of funding. Contour Strips will be cost shared at $15 per acre, and Well Abandonment (Maximum - $750 cost share, one well per landowner per year). Federal/Municipal Partnering is available (Maximum - $500), includes dry hydrants.
More information and cost share applications are available at the USDA Service Center, 1900 Ervin Johnson Drive, Darlington or by calling (608) 776-3836. LCD staff are available from 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
