MONROE - The Knights of Columbus, Council 1471, recently recognized winners for their annual math, spelling and Christmas poster contests. The math and spelling contests are open to boys and girls in grades five through eight, while the Christmas poster contest is open to boys and girls in grades one through grade five.
First place finishes for the math contest included Jack Bochar, grade five; Ryan Mathiason, grade six; Roderick Rath, grade seven; and Marissa Vosberg, grade eight. First place finishes for the spelling contest included Boderick Cornfield grade five; Alyssa Hartwig grade six; Roderick Rath grade seven; and Ethan Towne grade eight. For the Christmas poster contest, first place finishes included Evelyn Eckdhal, grade 1; Fiona Junk, grade 2; Madeline DeMuth, grade 3; Jackson Trupke, grade four; and Anastasia Lattin, grade five.
Youth who finished in first place are eligible to compete at the next level of competition for the contests.
