MONTICELLO — The Monticello Chamber held a ribbon cutting for King’s 244 Bar & Grill on Friday, Jan. 20. Brent Klitzke is the owner of King’s 244 Bar & Grill located at 244 N Main St, Monticello, 53570. He opened the doors earlier in 2022.

Brent also has a landscaping business, so the bar started out as a winter project for him.

“Thank you to Kari Broge for allowing me the opportunity to purchase the bar (formerly known as The Kooler),” he said.

Brent is a Monticello native and he has always admired the brick design on the interior and the unique décor.

His dedicated staff includes Taylor Jacobsen & Halle Everson. Brent expressed what an amazing job they have done and can tag in when Brent is unavailable.

“Currently, I am waiting on the food license & state inspection. I would like to get Friday Fish fries going, maybe Wednesday Wings, and eventually incorporate breakfast into the menu,” said Klitzke.

King’s 244 Bar & Grill is open on Wednesday and Thursday at 5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
