MONROE - Kay Demrow of Janesville will speak on Luther Valley Historical Society and how it applies to the borderlines of Rock and Green Counties when the Green County Genealogical Society meets at 10 a.m. March 6 in the upper level of the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe.

Demrow is the archivist and treasurer of the Luther Valley Historical Society in Footville. She has maintained the society's holdings for several years and has been a volunteer at LVHS since 1991.

One of her largest projects was to research, compile and publish several cemetery histories with transcriptions of the stones. She was inducted into the Rock County Hall of Honor in 2007.

A short business meeting will precede the program after which refreshments and a short social hour will be held. Anyone interested in learning more about researching family history is welcome to attend.

After the meeting, members will adjourn to go to the Green County Genealogical Research Center to continue work on the library holdings. GCGS is hoping to hold an open house after their annual May meeting.
