KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ten National Junior Hereford Association members, including one from Monroe, each were awarded a $10,000 Jack and Donna Vanier Scholarship at the American Hereford Association Hereford Honorees Reception during the Oct. 28 AHA annual membership meeting in Kansas City, Missouri.
Briana Katzenberger of Monroe received one of the 10 scholarships. Katzenberger is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She is majoring in marketing with the goal of finding a career in advertising. She currently is serving as the president of the Wisconsin JHA.
The scholarships were 10 of 23 awarded through the Hereford Youth Foundation of America, totaling more than $142,000. The Vanier Family of CK Ranch in Brookville, Kansas, donated 10 scholarships totaling $100,000 to youth who demonstrate a commitment to higher education and who have overcome obstacles in their lives.
