Junior Holsteins hold Heart of the Wheel sale, prepare for June show

The Green County Junior Holsteins met on April 12 at the New Glarus High School. We planned the lunchstand for the Green County Heart of the Wheel Sale and talked about upcoming activities. The District 6 Holstein Show will be held on Saturday, June 28 at the Stoughton Fairgrounds.

On Saturday May 10, the Green County Heart of the Wheel sale was held at the Green County Fairgrounds. This sale is organized and ran by the Green County Holstein Breeders. The sale averaged $3,665 on 60 live lots. The juniors helped Thursday through Saturday with washing cattle and barn chores. Juniors were leadsmen for the sale and also ran the lunchstand.

The Green County Junior Holstein Association assist with the Little Britches contest at the Green County Fair. It will be held on Wednesday, July 16 at 10:45 a.m. It is open to kids 4-8 years of age. Children can show animals that are on the fairgrounds and there is no charge for participation. For more information about the Little Britches contest contact Kathie McCullough at rocknhill2@tds.net.
