JUDA - The Next Generation 4H Club is sponsoring the 28th annual Juda Farm Tractor and Toy Show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Jefferson Community Center and Fire Station, N2350 County S, Juda. The show promotes community interaction in the form of farm toys, antique tractors and food.

The Juda High School FFA started the show many years ago and managed it for several years until turning it over to the Juda Fire Department. Eventually management returned to the Juda FFA/FFA Alumni. In 2013, the alumni passed the responsibilities of the event to the Next Generation 4-H Club. Since taking over, the 4H club has introduced new events, made admission free and added more vendors to draw interest from the surrounding communities.

One show tradition the club has continued is the toy show button. Each year's button spotlighted a different tractor and attendees received the button when getting a pass into the show. Since admission is now free, buttons may be purchased for $1.50 each.

Since taking over in 2013, the 4-H club has sponsored tractors from Eric Hanson of Monroe and Marvin Becker and Daryl Miller of Juda.

This year the club would like to display as many of the past 28 years of tractor buttons as possible on the day of the show, but with few records about the tractors or their owners, the club is reaching out to surrounding communities for help. Anyone having information about past buttons or tractors and the years they were featured is asked to contact Eric Hanson at 608-329-8574 or Marvin Becker at 608-934-5331.

The club also is inviting these tractors back to represent the year that they were spotlighted and to encourage others who have never displayed their tractors to bring them to this year's show. The club also is looking for the next spotlighted tractor for the 2017 show.

Tractor owners interested in being on next year's button may contact Hanson or Becker at the phone numbers listed or at the show. There is no cost to the owners: The club will take the picture, gather information on the tractor and the owner and then have the 2017 button created.
