WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Four Juda High School students will performing in the National Band Association-Wisconsin Chapter All-State Band set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.
Luke Jordan, Brianna Knudtson, Patrick McKay and Carmen Hale were chosen from 200 applicants from NBA-member schools in Wisconsin. Membership in the band signifies a level of achievement which places these student musicians in the top percentile among all student musicians in the state.
This year's band will be conducted by Dennis Glocke from Penn State University. Glocke is a Wisconsin native and has taught at Oconomowoc schools and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Juda Middle School also had three students selected to participate in the 2013 National Band Association-Wisconsin Chapter All-State Junior Band. Nicholas Baum, Sara Jordan and Riley Adkins were nominated by their director, Gregory Smith, and will perform with the group at the finale concert of the 29th annual convention.
The 2013 All-State Junior Band is comprised of 102 students from 41 schools throughout Wisconsin. Joann Kekula, a music educator from Wittenburg-Birnamwood, will conduct this year's band.
