JUDA - The Juda Class of 1967 awarded We Remember Our Nine Angels Scholarships to Sara Jordan and Matthew Schmitt May 17 at Juda High School. Each recipient received a $900 award.

The Our Nine Angels Scholarship was established in 2010 to be a perpetual scholarship by the surviving classmates of the nine young women who died on their senior class trip: Sheila Babler, Sandra Goecks, Linda Hartwig, Joyce Kaderly, Linda Moe, Janice Siedschlag, Nancy Siegenthaler, Nelva Smith and Doreen Williams. They died March 30, 1967, when a Douglas DC-8 on a training flight at the New Orleans International Airport crashed into the Hilton Hotel where the girls were staying.
