JUDA - The Juda Zion United Methodist Church will continue its Lenten theme of "What in the World Is the Church Doing for Christ's Sake?" when Juda native Jerry Leggett brings his nationally known "Peace Bubble" to Juda at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Leggett is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ.
He now lives in Hawaii but grew up in Juda where his father was pastor of the Baptist Church and a member of the school board.
He began his amazing two-year, 100,000-mile journey "to sing for peace" in January 2007.
With the help of friends, he acquired a tear-drop-shaped trailer which he called "The Peace Bubble." As Jerry zig-zagged across the U.S., the Peace Bubble became a listening post for him to ask thousands of people the question, "What does peace look like for you?" He videotaped 7,000 of their responses for broadcast on www.youtube.com
Jerry Leggett's "A Little Bit of Peace" events include his original tunes, tales from the road and a treasure trove of images and video interviews that gather thoughts about peace from around the nation.
His goal is to entertain audiences with the thought that "peace is possible if we want it."
