The Juda Zion United Methodist Church will hold two performances of its Easter musical “Once Upon A Tree.”

JUDA — The public is invited to attend an Easter musical presented at the Juda Zion United Methodist Church. 

Two performances will be held: one at 1:30 p.m. on Palm Sunday, April 2 at 1:30 p.m. and another at 1:30 p.m. on Good Friday, April 7. The musical “Once Upon A Tree” is the story of the last weeks of Jesus’ life, as narrated by Luke, the gospel writer.

As Luke writes a letter to his friend Theopolis, the audience will see and hear the events of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the struggle of Gethsemane, the suffering of the crucifixion, and the tenderness of a Mother’s grief. Luke’s letter continues on to tell of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

The musical is directed by Shelly Jordan, and includes the cast members Darlene Becker, Jake Hoesly, Carrie Soddy, Joyce Hoesly, Beth Figi, Peggy Jordan, Sara Jordan, Julie Davis, Aurora Daniels, Judy Kaderly, Nicole Ramirez, Sharon Creuzer, Kim Shield, Jean Busker, Jen Coppis, Kay Carter, Rudy Kaderly, Pat Daniels, Bob Severson, Steve Anderson, JoAnn Eberle, Mark Woodward, Justin Soddy, Justin Bolton, Blake Adkins, Matt Schmitt, Joe Kaderly, Will Burchard, Dakota Davis, Peggy Matzke, Mary Severson, Heidi Bolton, Angie Kainz, Jessica Lynaugh, Sophie Bolton, Julia Figi, Miah Coppis, Noah Buchard, Quinn Burchard, Liam Burchard, Kambrya Kainz, Jaelyn Kainz, Quinton Soddy, Bindy Lynaugh, Cambria Lynaugh, Kipp Lynaugh, Tucker Lynaugh, and Tucker Bolton.

Brian Matzke and Pat Daniels are in charge of the lighting, Bill Jahn and Kalvin Kaderly handle the sound system, Lorin Jordan, props, and Hazel Matzke taking care of the publicity. Pastor of Zion Church is Rev. Kelly Jahn.

Juda Zion Church is located at N2350 Church Street, Juda. Both performances are open to the public and there is no admission charge. A free-will offering will be accepted. Refreshments will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
