MONROE - Despite the cold temperature Saturday, 21 adult volunteers and 24 youths from the Next Generation 4H Club of Juda came together to assisted a local organization with the annual Monroe Women's Club "Holiday Pots on the Square," where evergreens and dogwood branches decorate the many pots located around Monroe's downtown Square.

For the past three years, Next Generation 4-H has helped by delivering greens to the pots and arranging them in a festive fashion.

The evergreens will stay on the Square until spring, decorating the downtown.

Participants included Derrick, Kelly, Alayna and Dylan Fiez; Heather and Jadyn Ellefson; Sara and Hayden Scace; Justin, Heidi, Graycn, Sophia, Tucker, Bolton, Crystal and Trent Andrews; Savannah and Elli Anderson; Karri and Jacob Walker; Kristin and Kameron Prien; Jayda Simpson; Tiffany, Kloe, and Gavin Jordan; Heidi and Auburn Von Kaenel; Ayden Bergemann; Kelsi Mueller; Andrea Skibbie; Dalana and Abbie Trumpy; Debbie Myers; and Kieth Andrews.

This is only one of many community service projects the club does for local organizations in the area. As part of 4-H, the club strives to promote generosity, empathy and concern for others, as well as performing volunteer work.

If in need of help on any project, please consider giving Next Generation or any of the 18 different 4-H clubs in Green County a call. To find out more about Green County 4-H clubs, please contact Ellen Andrews at 608-328-9440.
