MONROE — Val Johnson, with Woodford State Bank, has accepted the challenge for the month of October to be a “Big Wig” for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The Komen Foundation raises funds to help local women and men impacted by breast cancer. The funds raised will be used for health services and educational programs, and will support research to find the cures for breast cancer.
Through this program, 75% of funds raised remain in our local communities to help fund local breast cancer initiatives. Teresa Joranlien with Hawk’s Mill is on the Komen Foundation board. Johnson has agreed to help raise $5,000 for the month of October. Adam Scheidegger has also taken the challenge to raise $5,000 for the month of October.
