Miss Sheryl Renee James, formerly of Monroe, and Mr. Daniel Patrick Johnson, Madison, were united in marriage on June 30, 2012 at 2 in the afternoon in the Assembly Chamber of the Wisconsin State Capitol, Madison.

The officiant for the ceremony was the Reverend Jerry Hancock. Music was provided by the Ancora String Quartet and ceremony readings were offered by Denise Starbuck and Senator Neal Kedzie. Following the ceremony, a seated dinner and reception was held at The Legend at Bergamont Golf Course, Oregon. On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at the Bellini Restaurant, Madison.

The bride wore a Kenneth Winston ivory gown with a sweetheart neckline, trumpet silhouette and lace and English net fabric. The gown was accented with a crystal belt and shoulder strap with a detachable cathedral Watteau train.

Valerie Dunlavey, Browntown, a lifelong friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tracy Boeck, Glendale, a friend of the bride, and Sandra James, Verona, sister-in-law of the bride.

The matron of honor and bridesmaids all wore a violet chiffon dress, floor length A-line skirt pattern with one shoulder floral strap and ruched bodice.

David Hellmuth, Eden Prairie, Minn., a lifelong friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Eric Bauman, Middleton, a friend of the groom, and Ken James, Verona, brother of the bride. Ushers were Thomas Johnson, Naples, Fla., brother of the groom, and Cord Buckner, Wausau, friend of the groom.

The groom, best man and groomsmen all wore a traditional three-button, single-breasted Kenneth Cole black tuxedo, with satin necktie and vest.

The parents are Mary James and the late Norman James, Lena, and Nancy Johnson and the late William Johnson, Madison.

The bride is an accounting assistant for CRM, Inc., Madison, and the groom is chief of staff to Wisconsin State Senator Neal Kedzie.

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and currently resides in Madison with their dog, Sophie.
