DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Healthcare Workers Union Local 115 held a complimentary Employee Appreciation party for the staff of Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County and the Lafayette Manor on Feb. 14. More than 200 staff members and guests enjoyed a fun-filled evening of dinner, music and comedy entertainment. Money collected from Non-Union Employees who attended the party totaled $750. Union Local 115 decided to take the money paid and match it for a grand total of $1500 donated from the Union to the Friendship Fund. "The Friendship Fund helps us help others," Peggy North, secretary to the Friendship Fund, said. "This Fund was started in 2002 and has assisted over 200 families and has given over $150,000 to those in our area suffering from catastrophic illness or accidents." Presenting the $1500 check were Sandy Peart, union president, Sarah Lancaster, union vice president, Peggy North, Sherry Kudronowicz, non-union representative and Becky Thompson, Lafayette Manor representative.
