MONROE - Monroe Main Street will hold a lighting contest for city residents.
There will be six catagories for the contest: Children's Favorite Christmas; Business Store Fronts; Oh Holy Night; Lights, Lights, and More Lights; Block Party; and Country Christmas.
Judging will take place on Thursday, Dec. 9 and Friday, Dec. 10. Participants should leave lights on until 11 p.m. Entries may be submitted at Monroe Floral, Panchos & Lefty's, Heartland Graphics and Burington Shoes or mailed to: Monroe Floral, 1626 11th St., Monroe, WI. 53566. They can also be e-mailed to mainstreetevent@yahoo.com.
The deadline to enter is Sunday, Dec. 5. Category winners will be announced Saturday, Dec. 11. People's Choice voting begins Monday, Dec. 13, with that honor awarded Saturday, Dec. 18.
